My new job

Recently i have changed a new job in a totally new industry. 1st time i need to remember so so many product names. Hehe.. of cuz comparing to retail shops or logistics, mine is nothing. =P


So stress for the 1st 2 weeks, reports reports and reports... deadlines after dealines. Almost everday has at least 1 report deadline, sometimes 2. I don't know how am i going to survive in such stressful environment, but 1 thing i know.. if i can't make it, i am lousy.


Due to it is a multi-national company, my overseas colleagues' names are really "special". Long and difficult to pronounce, but to them.. my Chinese name also confused them a lot. Everyone is calling me different name. Different system administrators created different user ID for me and i even need to record down my user ID. Gosh!! My user name is more than my password.


After struggling 2 hectic weeks, finally all the reports are gone. I started to have time to study or look at their operation and other daily tasks. Thank god.


Let's hope i will adopt to this new environment fast, "live" safe and sound. =P

Accounts

Today there are 3 university students coming to my company to do some project, so few of us attend to them.

My boss asked us to intro ourselves, so the sales people 1 by 1 introduce themselves, all were very good and fluent. Comes to my turn, i only said, "I am Chiek Yee, accounts".

My boss was teasing me... oh? so shy? come on, tell them more about you.

I answered, "that's why i am doing accounts". Everyone was laughing at me. ;'(

Then the 3 students' turn to introduce themselves. The 1st 2 students are studying Finance & Marketing, so no problem. The 3rd student.. she paused a while....

My boss asked... you forgot your name?

The she replied.. i am XXXX.... studying Accounts.

Now everyone laughed even more, said really Accounts style... same same.

Six Lessons

This Monday, my boss treated my colleague & me for lunch at Turf Club. We saw some people were learning riding the horses there. Because i was quite interested in learning, so when we were leaving, i went to enquiry about the lessons.

After getting into the car, my boss asked me how's it?

I answered, "I will need to take six lessons, after that they will assess & arrange which category i should be in". Suddenly my boss kept on laughing, he said i had pronounced "six" wrongly as "sex", so.... after sex lessons, they will evaluate...

Grrr... since this monday until now... 4 days, he still can't stop laughing at me everyday. ;'(

Waltz~~

Think around 2 weeks ago, 1 of my colleague suddenly thought of learning some ballroom dance. Such a good & busybody colleague like me, of cuz, i will be joining her too!! =D

Together with another sales colleague, 3 of us went to sign up with great expectation. Well, please don't mislead by our expectation. We were expecting some handsome guys, hmm... okok, at least around our age. The sales colleague told us, don't expect too much, should be uncles & aunties cuz we are learning at Community Centre. I told her last time i learned salsa, most of them are younger than me!! Well okok, the salsa was learned at those dancing schools, not CC.

1st day Waltz. Just stepping into the classroom, i got a shocked!! Really all uncles & aunties. somemore 1 uncle took out those mint sweets & ate. I got the feeling he got bad breath. Sob sob... Anyway, the class started and what a surprised was that those uncles were already known the waltz basic steps and some style or pattern. Not sure if they just came to pass time? but if they know the basic already, they should at least join the intermediate or higher level classes.

Luckily the class was very fun, lots of laughters.. thanks to my colleague. The teacher hasn't started to teach, she already self-dance there. The whole class just kept laughing at her. So funny.

Although with uncles & aunties, we still look forward for every Thu class. It really get rid of our tireness after whole day work. =)

BCM

What's BCM? It is Business Continuity Management. Basically is how we continue the business if we have sudden disaster, eg. small case like IT failure, or bigger case like office on fire & we cannot back to premises to work for 1 week or longer time.

Well, recently we were busying attending the course, taking theory exam. Oh Yeah!! It finally over & i had happily clear all the BCM knowledge out of my tiny brain (trust me, just to clear the memory space) & .... OMG!!! what!!! There will be an audit by external BCM auditor!!! They will be conducting "interview", asking you how you react.

Such a prolong, endless process. Tomorrow will be my turn for the BCM audit. Sob sob, please burn me together with the premises if there's any fire.

Taiwan relatives

This is the reunion with Taiwan relatives after i left Taiwan, think over 10 years. Even my little cousin already turn into handsome young man.

Recently we found we can't live 1 day without the new PA. Thanks to her, we can say "bye bye" to our boring working life. Within 1 month, she already become top#1 of our Gossip Chart. Due to the popularity, we gotta give her a nickname to avoid she overheard.

Hmm.... What nickname can suit her very very well? This is really the most difficult task we ever be assigned. To match this Champion of Celebrity Gossip, we must also have an absolute "Champion" nickname for her.

1 day one brilliant colleague skype us, "Hippo is laughing again, my life is in danger". Suddenly, only 1 person flash in our head.... Yes!!! It must be her!!! Still sitting at our own desk without asking anyone, we all know who this colleague was refering to.

Yes!!! Such a matching nickname. You want to ask me why? Please look at the picture below just in case you don't know this animal well.

"I have more hair~~"

Recently we have a ...strange? funny? ... new PA started to work in the office.

Today she came to my desk, thought of asking me some questions. Suddenly she started to pull "a hair" on my hand.

"Why are you pulling the hair on my hand?" I was bit unhappy she disturbed me :-<

"Ohoh, nothing. Oh, your hand don't have much hair. Hehe... mine have more hair!!" [suddenly she was laughing & looked so proud]

I really thought she was so funny and felt curious, "Why are you so happy with more hair?"

"Oh, I got more hair so i won't feel cold loh"

"Wei wei wei... hallo hallo, we are human oh, can wear more clothings if feel cold. No need to have more hair oh".

Really really strange PA. Well, let's welcome her on board. Give her a big applause & hope she will continue to be "creative" & "innovative".

Are you the real Fish?

1 day my boss was using my PC and my colleague suddenly skyped me, asking me if want to have dinner with them after work. Here's my naughty boss happily replied for me...

"No, i have date tonite. "[somemore putting the love sign in the skype] (actually that nite i would be having dinner with my ex-colleague and this boss, so he knew for sure i won't be able to go out with my colleagues)

My colleague thought i really had a date & very happy for me, "oh, congratulate!! if married, remember to invite me!!" My boss started to laugh there and continue to pretend as me skyping her...

"You think my boss is handsome?"

My colleague silent a long long time and replied, "Not handsome". [Omg!! my colleague absolutely had no idea she was actually skyping to my boss!!]

"Think carefully, cuz i am not Fish, i just hack to use her PC" Haiz, seemed like my boss could not accept this fact. Wahaha...

In the end, my colleague dare not to reply anymore. After i got back my PC, i skype her & told her just now was my boss. She got shocked & said oh no, i just commented he was not handsome.

Haha.. nowadays whenver she skype me, she will ask.. are you the real fish?

This is the little Shun who always has lots of funny things. Oh!! Please don't think he is not handsome, small eyes, silly face.. already attracts many little girl girls loh.

We often ask him got any girlfriends or not, and he always deny.. but will tell us secretely which girl likes him.

Finding phone contact

Here comes a complaint from my sister.

1 days my sister was driving and i sat next to her. She needed to make a phone call & start to search for contacts in phone. Suddenly she complained to me....

Aiyo... you know your name is the most difficult name to search. I saved your phone number as "Yee".. you know lah, "Y" is almost 2nd last alphabet.. so everytime i want to call you, i know i have to press the scroll down button for very long time, then drive a while & see already reach what alphabet, Ah.. still haven't reach "Y" then have to press to scroll again.

-_-lll My sister was actually press the scroll down button to scroll from the name starts from A, then B, then C.... until Y!!! Omg!!! She didn't know she can just search through phone, no wonder she wanted to complain. Oh oh.. wahaha.. wei wei.. it is not my name's fault oh!! :-P

Do you know animals' sound well?

As usual, last weekend i went to visit "My Funniest Sister Family". Little Soon was so happy to see me, he just couldn't wait to throw me a question.

"Auntie, i let you guess ar. 1 cow & 1 frog went to buy 1 fruit. You guess what fruit they bought? You gotta guess in Mandarin"

Hmm.... Cow? Frog? Elder Yao was volunteer to give a hint. "Cannot cannot!!! last time I heard the hint, immediately i knew the answer already. Cannot tell auntie!!" my sister quickly stopped him. What kind of fruit that once i heard the hint will know answer. Cow = milk? fruit in white colour? Frog.. green green?? totally no link between them.

In the end they gave me the hint, "it is cow & frog's sound" & they were expecting i would be as excited as they are & shouted out the answer. But..... sorry sorry, I still cannot figure out the answer.

3 of them got stunned & had those "unbelievable" look, seemed like i am alien to them. Out of sudden, 3 of them vocal... "Moooo Gua! Moooo Gua!" (papaya in Chinese). Ah.... little Soon even suggest to lend me his book, to learn what are those animal's sound. -_-lll

Everybody likes Little Soon

My sister's younger son "Ah Soon" is only 7 years old, Primary 1, not handsome but always has an attractive smiley face.

1 day in Ah Soon's class, 1 little boy bravely told their monitress that he loves her & want to marry with her when grow up. This monitress immediately refused & shouted "Don't want!! I don't want to marry with you. I want to marry with Ah Soon!!" :O

After back home, Ah Soon told his elder brother about this incident, and said so embarrassed because of this monitress & everyone knows about this. Haha.. Elder brother said, should not be you who feel embarrassed. It should be that boy because now everyone knows he likes the monitress & being rejected.

Haha… Nowadays kids are so matured.

My ruler is not same!!

After the "jpg friend" incident, that nite my sister was chatting with me about her 2 sons. Elder son is studying Primary 3 and the younger one is in Primary 1.

1 day her elder son bought a long ruler, brought back & show off to the younger brother. He purposely didn't want to borrow to the younger brother. The younger brother was angry & said "How much? I will buy 1 tomorrow". The older brother said "Only 80cents. You don't buy the same as mine!!".

So next day the younger brother went to the school stationery shop there, telling the guy he wanted to buy a long ruler & paid RM1 to that guy. After school as soon as he got into my sister car, he immediately showed it off to elder brother... see see? I also bought a long ruler. The elder brother was angry & said, "didn't i tell you not to buy same ruler as mine?"

The younger brother felt being accused & immediately fought back, "My ruler is not same. Yours is 80cents, mine is RM1". Now the elder brother laughed & said "brother so silly, being cheated!! These 2 rules are same same!!"

Now I really need to salute & express my deepest appreciation to my sister family. Like mother, like son. Wahaha....

Few weeks ago i went to visit my sister and we went to City Square to have some ice-cream with her 2 kids. After ordering the ice-cream, the 2 kids & I were eating happily, then my sister showed me her handphone.

In her handphone Inbox, there was a picture file "beauty.jpg" sent by bluetooth which she cannot open, and she didn't recall she ever on the bluetooth to receive such file. (Now she is quite expect in bluetooth after last bluetooth joke :P) She kept on asking me why cannot open or see who send it to her? I told her.. it is a picture, but think maybe the file is too big or your phone short of program to open. Then i ignored her & continue to eat the ice-cream happily.

My sister was quiet for few minutes, then looked very puzzle and started to mutter there... "so strange, who is jpg? i don't have a friend call jpg" & start to check her Contact list. Ah~~ i almost fainted.

Magic Computer!!

During mum's wake, bro-in-law borrowed his friend's camera to take some photos. After the funeral, we needed to transfer the photos in that camera memory card into thumb drive but could not think of a way to direct transfer.

Suddenly i remember i brought laptop back & we could transfer & save all photos into the laptop. Since transfer photos won't spend much time, so i just switch on the laptop without plug in the power. When we all viewing & transfering the photos, suddenly my sister shouted out of surprised, "Ah!!! how come you can on this computer without any cable?"

My brother & I immediately look at each other & said... Yaya, bluetooth bluetooth. Haha... :D

On your BLUETOOTH now!!!

This was happened over 1 years ago. Until now, i still cannot help myself laugh everytime i think of this.

One day i went back to hometown with my friend, suddenly i received a message from sister.
"Quick, on your bluetooth"

Very surprised & quite sure my sister sent the wrong message to me because i was at least 200km away from her place (2 hours journey), so i replied, "think you sent the message to me wrongly".

"It is correct. Don't ask. On your bluetooth NOW!" -_-lll

My sister totally no idea how far could the bluetooth reach. Now i really could not help myself from laughing. Somemore she sounded soooo serious & urgent, asking me not to ask & adding "NOW!!" in her message.

Wahaha.... My brother even mentioned this was the best joke of the year.

Courage to live and face

The 100 days pray for mum’s death just over 2 weeks ago. I still cannot believe I am actually pray all these for her. Maybe because I left home since 18 for further studies and work, and already used not to see her everyday, until now sometimes I still think she is at home and I am just in Singapore and don’t see her. That’s all.

However, the tears just keep on rolling down whenever I see her photo in my rented room. Facing the photo, I asked how she is now? I explained to her when and how we will pray for her, I blamed her for not loving me enough, I said sorry to her for could not help her to live longer, I chatted to her how sister & brother nowadays. Even talking so much to the photo, it doesn’t really give me the feel that she really left us. Still so unreal, so hard to accept. I kept on telling myself, if my friends able to accept their parents left them when they were younger than me, why can’t I? I don’t know, or maybe still confused. Not in this world anymore? Or just as usual staying in hometown?

Going back to hometown for praying few times, I forced myself to face. See? This stuff was buying to pray mum, that stuff is packed for praying. I kept on reminding myself all of these were for PRAYING. The bed is empty!! Gosh!! How long must it take to overcome all these?

Just before mum’s 49 days pray, I had a dream that I will only live until 35. I am 34 now so 1 year + to live. I start to wonder what if I can only live 1 more year, how will I live for the remaining days? I still remember before hospitalised, mum was so calm and told me everyday just at home watching TV, nothing to look forward to. If really to die, let it be. However, I also remember very clearly when she was hospitalised and seemed like getting worse, how anxious and desperate when she told me she was so afraid couldn’t see us anymore. Will everyone have the last minute panic when the time comes?

I am not a saint, or a hero. I also understand the moment before death must be scary and maybe painful. I just hope I will have enough courage to face and have my trust on mankind until the very last moment. I must build up the courage before my time comes, may it be 1 year, 2 year or many years later.

Thanks to Naruto

Haha... wondering why i thank to Naruto (a Japanese anim character)?

I have been watching Naruto so quite a long time & at my age, hardly can find someone to chat on this topic. Although some guys watching, we don't talk much. The most will be asking if watched the latest release or not.

But but... last weekend when I spent few days at my sister place. What a surprise was her 2 kids start to watch Naruto!! They only watched few VCD and still not familiar with the characters & the story. Haha... suddenly they admire me so much and we had been so crazy over naruto these few days. Telling them story, asking me questions and even bought the PS2 games, playing and eatig lollipop. I went to my bro-in-law's parent place.. guess what? haha.. all the kids there also started to watch & play Naruto. They suddenly become so close to me & even want to challenge me on PS2 Naruto. Wahaha... so much fun.

At nite, i told my sister.. last time was hang around with my brother & his friends, now is talking Naruto & always eating lollipop with your kids.. no age gap.. Think maybe cuz i never grow up.

Hmm... What if they grow up & will I have no companions anymore? Haha.. suddenly across my mind.... not to worry, think by that time my brother will be married & have kids and I will have them as new companions. Yeah!!
